Video guide

Watch this video and follow the steps below to learn how to connect YaraPlus and John Deere Operations Center™.

Step-by-step

  1. Connect the accounts
  2. Import farms and fields
  3. Add crop details after import
  4. Manage imported farms and fields

1) Connect the accounts

First, connect your John Deere Operations Center™ account and select the organisations you want to share with YaraPlus.

Before you start:

  • You can only connect the accounts in the YaraPlus web app, not in the mobile app.
  • Your John Deere Operations Center™ account must be linked to only one YaraPlus account. If it's linked to multiple YaraPlus accounts, the import may fail.

Connection not working? Check your John Deere™ access settings

If you can't connect your John Deere Operations Center™ account to YaraPlus, check that the John Deere Operations Center™ account you use for the connection has the required access level and permissions.

If these permissions are missing, the connection may fail or organisations may not load correctly.

The John Deere Operations Center™ account should have these access settings:

  • Equipment: access level 3 (View, Edit, Manage)
  • Organization: access level 2
  • Share Organization Data with Connected Software Companies enabled
  • Locations: access level 3 (View, Analyze, Manage)
  • Work: access level 2 (View, Manage)

Proceed as follows:

  1. Click the Farm dropdown in the header of your YaraPlus account, then select Import.
  2. Select John Deere Operations Center™ as the source.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Connect to go to John Deere Operations Center™.
  5. Log in to your John Deere Operations Center™ account with your username and password.
  6. Click Allow Access to grant YaraPlus access to the selected data.
  7. Select which organisations to connect with YaraPlus, then click SAVE.
  8. You'll be redirected back to YaraPlus.

Which data can YaraPlus access?

YaraPlus can view:

  • Farm information
  • Field details
  • Crop types
  • User information and organisations
  • Work Plans™ and field activities
  • Biomass data

This data is needed to provide accurate insights for crop nutrition. Biomass data is used to sync biomass maps between YaraPlus Atfarm and John Deere Operations Center™.

YaraPlus can upload:

  • Work Plans™ and field activities
  • Variable-rate application maps

Note: YaraPlus doesn't edit your field boundaries or overwrite other sensitive data in John Deere Operations Center™.

2) Import farms and fields

After the connection is complete, you can import all farms or only the fields you need.

  1. You can see a list of your John Deere™ farms. Each farm entry shows:
    • Total number of fields
    • The organisation it belongs to
    • The country where it is located
    • Number of fields already imported
  2. If you're missing an organisation, click Connect more organisations in the top right corner and select additional organisations.
  3. If necessary, use the country dropdown to change a farm's country.
  4. Tick the box next to a farm to select all fields, or click the arrow in a farm row to expand the field list and select individual fields.
    • Farms with zero fields can't be selected for import.
  5. Click Import to start the process.
    • Larger imports may take more time.
    • If you've changed a farm's country, you'll be asked to agree to the selected country's terms and privacy policy. Tick the box to confirm your agreement.

3) Add crop details after import

Assigning crop types helps YaraPlus provide accurate fertiliser recommendations tailored to your crops. It's also required for biomass map syncing. If a field has no crop assigned or the crop isn't in an active growing period, biomass maps won't be generated or synced.

You don't need to do this right away, but features like biomass monitoring and variable-rate application maps will only work once crop details are added. You can add crop details later.

  1. Click Add crop details to assign crop and production goal for each imported field.
  2. Tick the box next to one or more fields of the same crop type to select them.
  3. Select the crop type and production goal from the dropdowns.
  4. Select the seeding date.
    • The seeding date can be in the past or in the future.
    • If you're unsure, the month is enough to give a recommendation.
  5. Click Save selected fields.
  6. If necessary, repeat these steps for other fields.
  7. Once you've completed all fields, click Next farm (if multiple farms were imported) to proceed with the next farm.
  8. Click Done to complete the process.

4) Manage imported farms and fields

Once your import is complete, you can access your John Deere™ farms in the farm overview of your YaraPlus account. All imported fields are listed on the farm page.

You can now add further field details in YaraPlus Atfarm and YaraPlus GrassN, including:

  • Target yield
  • Legal limits
  • Soil profile

Note:

You can't change names or boundaries of imported farms and fields, and you can't delete imported farms or fields in YaraPlus. Please make these changes in John Deere Operations Center™.

Troubleshooting import errors

Most import issues can be resolved quickly by checking the items below.

If you see a red warning icon on the import page, click the arrow in a farm row to expand it and view all fields and their status.

What's the issue?

Fields missing or invalid

No boundaries

  • Add field boundaries in John Deere Operations Center™.
  • Retry the import.

Invalid boundaries

  • Ensure boundaries don't overlap or intersect in John Deere Operations Center™.
  • Retry the import.

Account or connection issues

Connection expired

  • Reconnect to your John Deere Operations Center™ account.

No farms or fields in John Deere Operations Center™ account

  • Click Connect more organisations and connect at least one organisation.
  • Check that farms and fields still exist in your connected organisations.
  • If everything looks correct, the issue may be temporary. Try again later.

Data inconsistencies

Farm and all associated fields belong to different countries

  • Use the country dropdown in a farm's row to change the country of the farm.

Single fields inside a farm belong to different countries

  • Only fields with the same country as their farm will be imported.

Temporary issues

Unknown error

  • Re-select the affected fields and retry the import.

Farms and fields couldn't be loaded

  • This may be a temporary connection issue. Try again later.
