How can I add or change a crop for an existing field?

You can add crop types to one or multiple (web app only) fields during field creation, or you can do this later as explained below. Adding crop types ensures YaraPlus provides accurate recommendations tailored to your crops.

Note: If you add a new crop with a seeding date to a field that already has an active crop, YaraPlus automatically ends the previous crop period. The harvest date for the previous crop season is automatically set to one day before the new crop's seeding date.

This article explains how to add a new crop to an existing field and start a new crop period. If you only want to edit the current crop details of a field, select Edit crop instead of Add crop. If the current crop is linked to existing data, such as target yield, fertiliser applications and measurements, you can't edit the crop details. To switch to a different crop, add a new crop as explained below.

Proceed as follows:

1. Open the farm overview in YaraPlus:
   • Browser: Click on the Farm dropdown in the header, then select Manage farms.
   • Mobile app: Tap the ⋮⋮⋮ icon in the top right corner of the home screen, then select Manage farms.
2. Select the farm and field:
   • Browser: Select the desired farm in the farm overview, then find the field in the list.
   • Mobile app: Select the desired field under a farm.
3. Click or tap the three dots, then select Add crop.
4. (Browser only) Tick the box next to one or multiple fields to select them. You can select fields with an existing crop or fields without a crop.
5. Select the crop and production goal from the dropdowns.
6. Select the seeding date from the date selector.
   • If the field already has an active crop, the new seeding date automatically ends the previous crop period.
   • For fields with an active crop, the new seeding date must be after the seeding date of the current crop.
   • The seeding date can be in the past or in the future.
   • If you're unsure, the month is enough to give a recommendation.
7. Browser: Click Save selected fields. / Mobile app: Tap Save changes.
8. (Browser only) If necessary, repeat these steps for other fields. Once all fields are updated, click Done to complete the process.

In the farm overview, you can only see the active crop of each field. To view previous and future crops, open the field in YaraPlus Atfarm and change the season.
