Once you've added a farm to YaraPlus, you can add fields to it. Below are the steps to add a field in the YaraPlus mobile app. Find out here how to add one or more fields at once in the YaraPlus web app.
Please note:
- If you have an account in the legacy version of Atfarm, you can save time by choosing to import your fields to YaraPlus Atfarm. Read here how to proceed.
- Grassland: Some regions are not yet supported by YaraPlus GrassN. Find out here where YaraPlus GrassN is available.
1) Locate field
- Tap the + button on the homepage of the YaraPlus mobile app.
- The field creation page opens.
- If necessary, switch farms using the dropdown at the top. Farms can't be switched past this point.
-
Locate the field on the map*:
- Search by town, postal code, or address.
- Tap the pin icon to find your current location.
- Move and zoom the map: Drag the map or pinch to zoom.
- Field boundaries will be automatically detected and highlighted.
- If your field isn't highlighted, you can draw it in the YaraPlus web app in your desktop browser. Read here how to do this.
*The map is provided by Mapbox. Their imagery is updated every few years. Land use changes over time, and not all fields are up to date from any mapping provider. Nevertheless, you can still create the field for accurate recommendations.
2) Select field
- Tap on a detected field to select it.
- If necessary, tap on a different field to change the selection.
- f necessary, tap Edit to modify the field boundary using the tools below the map:
- Field border: Drag boundary points to adjust.
- Exclude area: Draw an inner border to exclude non-productive areas (e.g., trees, lagoons). Trace the field boundary by tapping points on the map, then tap on the starting point to complete the shape.
- Delete point: Tap on a boundary point to remove it.
- Undo: Delete the last change.
- Reset: Discard all changes.
- Tap Save and continue to confirm.
3) Add crops
Adding crop types ensures YaraPlus provides accurate fertiliser recommendations tailored to your crops. You don't need to do this right away, you can close the page and add crops later.
- Select the crop type and production goal from the dropdowns.
- Select the seeding date from the calendar, then tap Save.
- Only dates without crop records for the new seeding date can be selected.
- The seeding date can be in the past or in the future.
- If unsure, the month is enough to give a recommendation.
- Tap Add field to add the field to your farm.
All your fields can be found on the farm page. You can now add more information to your fields in YaraPlus Atfarm and YaraPlus GrassN, such as target yield, legal limits and soil profile.
